The Executive Committee of ESSM decided to establish two awards to be presented during the annual meetings of the society:
This award will be presented to a senior scientist who has made an outstanding contribution in the field. The Executive and Scientific Committees will decide the award winner, and the award winner will be presented during the Opening Ceremony.

The municipal authorities of Amsterdam and their destination partners have launched the ‘Amsterdam Young Scientist Award’. This Award is an incentive award for talented scientists and researchers up to 35 years of age and is presented by the municipal authorities of Amsterdam with an amount of EUR 5.000.
The winner will be selected by the scientific committee chair Andrea Salonia in cooperation with the local meeting chair Luca Incrocci out of the potential submitted oral presentation abstracts and by submitting a formal application.
