Welcome from the ESSM

Dear Colleagues, dear Friends,

On behalf of the Scientific Committee of the European Society for Sexual Medicine, we extend to you a warm welcome to attend the 2010 ESSM Congress in Malaga. We hope that it will prove an essential congress for everyone who has an interest in sexual medicine.

The Scientific Committee and Executive Committee have worked hard to develop an innovative scientific program for the Malaga congress where men’s, women’s, and couple’s issues will be comprehensively discussed. Everyday clinical practice in both genders will be explored, with round tables and lectures dedicated to themes such as the close relationship between heart disease and male’s sexual health, the sexual dysfunction that is related to urological cancer and so-called “benign” diseases in both genders. In addition we will focus on the pharmacological treatment of male and female sexual dysfunction, helping you to identify the correct treatment strategy for your everyday patients. As usually for our Society, surgery will have a large part in the meeting, with a focus this year on “male genital emergencies”. Likewise, in the field of women’s sexual health there will be a focus on the reproductive cycle, orgasmic disorders and “infertile family” matters.

Once more we hope to highlight some of the less well investigated aspects of the human sexuality including issues relating to sexual torture and paedophilic violence toward adolescents.

The President and the Scientific Committee are particularly happy and proud to welcome you all to the scientific sessions of the ESSM 2010 annual congress!
