Format Descriptions

Master Lecture
Each lecture of 30 minutes will be given by a distinguished and renowned expert and will be devoted to a specific topic of major interest.

Round Tables
These sessions will usually last 90 minutes. They will focus on a particular topic and present the very latest data related to it. The round table will include a maximum of four papers and time for discussion.

Debates
Debates last for 60 minutes and are designed to cover controversial issues of a particular topic. The moderator will allow a short introduction for each topic by the respective opponents followed by a discussion on the arguments proposed. Comments, arguments, and questions from the floor are welcome during the discussion.

Educational Courses
These 90 minutes sessions present a detailed account of a chosen topic. Courses are designed to provide learning experiences that actively involve participants and will include an opportunity for informal exchange with the faculty. Attendees will be given the possibility to interact actively via a voting system with the faculty of the session.

Video Surgey Course
The Video surgery Course will last 120 minutes, each video has a duration of 10 to 15 minutes. A panel of selected experts will present surgical videos showing different techniques and approaches and will discuss the details with the participants.

Podium Sessions
Podium sessions will present the best papers accepted for the Congress by the scientific Committee and will focus on specific topics presenting the very latest findings in this field. Each session will last 90 minutes and will consist of 10 presentations per session. Each presentation is limited to 7 minutes followed by 2 minutes of discussion. Authors are invited to submit abstracts as free communications, classified by topics.

Posters
Authors are invited to present their latest research findings or important ongoing research as posters; these will be grouped into one of 16 general areas of research by the scientific committee. The poster exhibition is scheduled from monday, 16 November 2009 to Wednesday, 18 November 2009.

Symposia organized by the industry
symposia organized by the Industry in consultation with the scientific Committee will be presented at the afternoon on sunday, 15 November 2009 before the Opening and the Reception on monday, 16 November 2009 and Tuesday, 17 November 2009 during lunchtime and in the late afternoon.
