The European School of Sexual Medicine is a joint venture established by the European Society for Sexual Medicine and the European Federation of Sexology. The first “Oxford Programme” was run in 2007 to deliver a learning curriculum based upon the European Academy for Sexual Medicine syllabus, in anticipation of a European specialist qualification in Sexual Medicine currently in development.
It draws on high-level teachers from both Societies and aspires to provide a programme for physicians that provides access to the knowledge and skills essential for specialist practice in Sexual Medicine. So far, seventy physicians from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and the Americas are working within the Oxford Programme; they include specialists in andrology, endocrinology, family medicine, gynaecology, internal medicine, psychiatry and urology.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn the essentials of sexuality in both men and women that are necessary for effective clinical practice, even for those whose usual practice is exclusively with one gender.
